NEWS / UPDATES:

CineSalon Experimental FIlm Festival: 'Artist in Focus' Programme

Screening Announcement: CineSalon Experimental Film Festival

7 of my short films will be screened at CineSalon Festival on 14th September in an ‘Artist in Focus’ programme. I’m really looking forward to sharing these films with everyone and discussing my work after the screening. Be sure to follow @cinesaloncork for festival updates!

______
From the CineSalon festival website:

CineSalon Experimental Film Festival will feature a screening of films by Arran Tenzin Bradstock on Saturday September 14th followed by a discussion with the filmmaker about his prolific film output and parallel engagement with sound.

Arran Tenzin Bradstock is a filmmaker and musician from Cork whose experimental approaches to filmmaking treat sounds and images as independent equals and embrace unknowable results through randomised processes and improvisation. The resulting works are immersive and hypnotic, evoking surprisingly dreamlike states through their visually intense collaging of details of reality.

NOVEMBER 2021: ‘A collage-film assembled from a diverse pool of audio and visual pieces made throughout November 2021. This work invites the viewer-listener to enter into an abstract audiovisual world defined by both its chaotic intensity and its meditative sense of immersion.’

NOW ONLINE: COLLISION | OVERLAP | FORMATION (2021)

In early 2021, I made 3 audio-only pieces and 3 visual-only pieces, all sharing the same duration. I approached them as standalone pieces, with the only point of connection being that in each piece I wanted to explore different methods of combining audio/visual materials in ways that would seem to allow new sounds and images to emerge. After completing the audio and visual pieces, I used a chance-based process to randomly pair them, resulting in 3 films: Collision, Overlap, and Formation.

Overlap premiered at Bloomsday Film Festival 2022; Collision, Overlap, and Formation were screened in one combined sequence at CineSalon in September 2023.

CineSalon: SCREENING UPDATE

Screening Announcement: CineSalon, Sept. 21st 2023

My film ‘Collision – Overlap – Formation’ will screen at the upcoming CineSalon experimental film event on Thursday 21st September, 7.30pm, at The Guesthouse Project, Cork.

‘Collision – Overlap – Formation’ is a series of 3 experimental shorts presented together as one film exploring the emergence of new sounds and images arising from different methods of combining material.

Across its 3 soundscapes of noise, drones, and ambience, and 3 imagescapes of chaos, symmetry, and abstraction, the film serves as a meditation on ausio/visual structure and form.

“CineSalon is a quarterly experimental film screening event curated by filmmakers Maximilian Le Cain and Benjamin Burns. CineSalon aims to provide a platform for film artists to share and discuss works old and new with adventurous audiences in a relaxed atmosphere. It exists to trace the emerging history of those visionary wild reeds springing up on the margins of Irish art and filmmaking. It celebrates personal, poetic, formally challenging work that ignores accepted paradigms and is all the more illuminating for it.” – CineSalon

ONLINE AUGUST 1–7: ‘Film Album no.1’

In August I will be sharing 7 new short films. These non-narrative, experimental shorts were each made as individual films that can viewed as standalone pieces or taken together to form one film album experience. This idea came from wanting to see how the approach I often take when producing musical albums as Don't Think could be applied to my filmmaking.

UPDATE ON WORKS IN PROGRESS

I am currently working on a number of film projects as part of my practice based PhD in Composition at UCC. For more information CLICK HERE. I will be posting regular updates and film stills on Instagram and Facebook. Looking forward to sharing the finished films in the future!

'THREE DEGREE PRODUCTIONS' SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATE

Hello everyone! This is an update on the recent change from the 'Three Degree Productions' name to my own name, Arran Tenzin Bradstock. Hopefully this post will clear up any questions people have.

You might have already noticed my YouTube channel being changed to 'Arran Tenzin Bradstock', and in the near future I plan on making the same change on my Facebook page and Instagram account.

While I still plan on making short films and using the Three Degree Productions name, over the past year I’ve been branching out into new kinds of projects. I’ve been focusing on more experimental film/audiovisual pieces lately, and in the next few months I’ll be posting more about them. I’ve also started making music as Don’t Think, and I have are several new releases in the works.

Whereas before I only posted online about film updates, I now plan on using this page to post about all of the various things I’m working on. The film content you have come to expect will remain a core part of what I produce, and I hope that the addition of other projects will make the website and social media pages more engaging spaces. Thanks very much to everyone who has followed me so far!

-Arran
